1970 - Demi Babanika is born in a coastal farming/fishing town of Katerini in N.E. Greece. Her father, George Babanika was a professor, and her mother, Eleftheria Babanika, was a seamstress.
1978 - As a young girl Demi grew up one of two children and showed her first aptitude in helping her mother prepare family meals.
1982 - As a teen she helped with the preparation and serving of food to her extended family for large holidays and gatherings.
1988 - Demi moves to America to attend Widener University.
1992 - Demi goes to Drexel University for here Masters Degree in Business and Publications.
1991 - Demi marries Basil Kollias, a lawyer in Wilmington, Delaware. They have 2 daughters both of whom attend Wilmington Friends Schools in Alapocas.
1995 - Demi purchases her first business, a Seven Eleven and then opens an entirely new one from scratch in 2001 at 8th and Walnut Streets in Philadelphia, PA.
2005 - Demi takes over Claymont Steak Shop in Claymont Delaware from her uncle who had opened and run it since 1965.
2006 - Demi expands the already popular and famous menu to include more signature dishes like Greek signature salads and Greek and Italian entrees.
2007 - Demi follows her dream and starts a catering business, Demi's Flavors to share her love of Greek-American food.
